Guyana Sports Diversion Program
We are working alongside partners in the UK (specifically West Mercia Constabulary and Ludlow Baptist Church, with others having been approached) to take a team of up to 14 people to Guyana for 10 days or so in late October.

As a result of the strong relationships the Hope and a Future Trust have built up with churches and local community leaders in Guyana, the team will be visiting 5 different areas in order to support already established sports diversion programmes, or establish new ones in some of the poorest areas of the country. A number of the team will have F.A. or E.C.B coaching qualifications, and will spend time working with both the young people who take part in the schemes, and the coaches who run them. Our plan is that these schemes will play an important role in preventing vulnerable young people being lured into gangs and the related worlds of crime and drug-running, thus ruining their futures before they have had a chance to begin.
